Fun Walks - For families and the young at heart!

Lyme Regis nestles in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the heart of the Jurassic Coast, where the rugged West Dorset and East Devon coastlines meet. The town and the surrounding area are renowned for their natural beauty and it has a fascinating history stretching back to the 8th century.

Lyme Regis is also famous as the birthplace of Mary Anning, one of history’s most important fossil collectors and palaeontologists. More recently, the town has been the filming location for the film "Ammonite" starring Kate Winslet and Saoirse Roman. Lyme Regis’s famous Cobb wall, dating from the 13th century, provides protection for the harbour and a walk along the Cobb is a must for any visitor. Follow the "All Ability Promenade" walk to visit the Cobb. The town of Lyme Regis is an attractive maze of narrow winding streets. The "Museums and Dinosaurs" walk will take you down some of its hidden back lanes. For a shady countryside walk, the "Uplyme to Lyme Regis Town Mill" follows the river Lim to the working town mill, where you will find refreshment stops and craft shops.
